As a photographer who makes images from reality, I find that collage allows me to make something more abstract the way a painter would. This method helps me to construct scenes heavily influenced by my dreams and my wondering imagination.
Seventy percent of these assemblages are made using strictly my own images, while the other thirty percent also include found images from the internet and old postcards.

Images made with a Polaroid Land Camera 100. Some have been drawn on, some are transfers, and others are scans made from the negative. For me, polaroids are a grungy version of digital, but so much more fun and awesome.

These images were taken during a trip to Argentina in 2008. I intended the trip to be an escape from the stresses of my life in the United States. Unfortunately while in Argentina I faced several physical illnesses, family drama, and heart ache. I came to realize that no matter where you go in the world, you will always have to face yourself. What saved me during this three month journey were my cameras. Armed with a Holga, a Nikon FE2, and film, I explored the space around me visually while reflecting on my feelings internally. The images created during this trip culminated into some of my favorite images ever made.
